Got ya, yes because it is a Pages file. If you want to change the icon do what I said.
command-i (Get Info) on any file or folder, choose the small icon box on the top left and copy & paste a jpg image.
You must change the icon on the file or folder itself not on the window bar alias.
Thanks for the helpful replies. Apart from applications, how do I get the icons for internet sites, like Google, or an airline or bank. On my old PC site icons came automatically when I created a desktop shortcut for the site,
Not sure what you mean by "Desktop shortcuts"?
If they're aliases they should have the image of the the aliased app or whatever.
You can usually command-i (Get Info) on any file or folder, choose the small icon box on the top left and copy & paste a jpg image.
AFAIK, you'd have to take a screenshot as a jpg and paste it.
Bookmarks do display the logo but not when drug to the Desktop.
