You can directly scan and recover lost data from iphone 4s after accidental restore

1) Connect your iPhone to the computer

2) Enter DFU mode and scan iPhone

3) Preview and recover iPhone photo

So... step 3... Yeah....

I got through the first two steps just fine. iTunes had literally nothing available other than Summary. There was no Scan/Preview or any way to view anything on the phone. I'd LOVE to find out how to do this method, but I've seen several people list THIS method almost exactly without ever mentioning HOW. There are plenty of tutorials on how to enter and exit DFU mode and I did that fine. But scanning the iPhone? Haven't found anything and would love to get this off of my todo list!!!

The reason you can't follow the steps in the post you quoted is that it's spam. Before being edited by the hosts, it had a link to "recovery" software that, for a price, you could download and ..... not accomplish anything. All of those posts that you've noted that show THIS method were cut and paste spam posts. The hosts, for reasons of their own, delete the link but leave the rest of the post.

If you created an iCloud or ******* before your accidental restore, your data will still be there. It's best try tru and regularly backup your device to iTunes or iCloud as a safe measure just in case things like this happen. I lost my ******* a few weeks ago, but luckily i got them back 😉

backing up is key! If you didn't backup you can try some online tutorials...

My 23 year old cousin died in a traffic accident...Her 4s got disabled (maybe paramedics tried to unlock it to inform relatives).

Now the only way to re-enable the phone is to restore it but she had never backed up. No one cares about the phone, but her parents want her last pictures(only the pictures)... PLEASE HELP!!!

While that situation is unfortunate, you cannot unlock the device or recover data form the device unless you have the correct passcode or unless there was an iTunes or iCloud backup.

Have them try to check her computer or see if they can determine her Apple ID & password. If her computer has a backup, then you may be able to restore the related iTunes backup to another device, or that same device after it is erased. If she made an iCloud backup, that can be restored by using the Apple ID & password.

There is no other reliable method.

Best of luck.
