You don't really need a recovery disk, as Lion creates a recovery partition when you install it. The only reason you might need a DVD is if your hard-drive died completely. If you were to create an install DVD you wouldn't use Xcode 4, that's a programming environment or IDE! Anyway, instructions are here:

First result from a straightforward google search!
Have You ever heard of Time Machine, That's the tool to go for! it's integrated in Mac OS X since Leopard! You just need a second Hard Drive to store your Backup.
Dear Senssien,
yes i know about time machine , but its work when your OS is running normally , Suppose your OS totally Crash then how u can backup your data even your macbook dont have any OS.
I want to create a USB drive as apple have OS X lion Thumb drive.
with that usb i can install OS .
Dear Zyriab,
I also know abot recovery partition which is coming by default for recover your OS when it crash , but i am looking the method how to recover OS X lion if your recovery drive also deleted or crash due to any reason.
do you know apple providing a USB thumb drive for installing os x lion . the same thing i want to create with installer pakages.
if anyone know about that please tell me i will be very thankful to him
Well as Zyriab suggested in the Link he posted try to get the .dmg File out of Lion Installer. Fire Up Disk Utility and restore the Image to either a DVD or a Thumb drive. You won't be able to install Lion from that but it gives you the Chance to restore from Time Machine Backup!
If you want to do a clean reinstall you need to install Snow Leopard first and then install Lion again.
Unfortunately there is no other way!
zyriab thanks providing the link

Please use the Approach described in http://www.macworld.com/article/161069/2011/07/make_a_bootable_lion_installer.ht ml...
1. download Lion installer
2. grab the dmg image
3. Burn this Image
4. Update your Computer
Or if You don't want to waste a DVD: Download Lion Installer via App Store and then install it.
You are not able to install Lion by a Recovery Disk of an other Computer since this Disk is Computer specific!
Dear senssien,
i did try to make a bootable drive but when i select source and destination and when i click restore button it give msg that "you cant restore resource is busy" whts its mean and pls give me the suggestion wht i do to make a bootable drive .
regards
alfan
Well if this Message appears, your Mac isn't able to unmount your device because it is busy. Try reformatting it or burn the Image to a DVD (this is much simpler).
Your mac will make the Device bootable by default, there is no other action required.
i am using ipod nano as my usb drive , is this ok ?
