X11 download

I am on travel and need to install X11. I do not have my Tiger DVD installer disk with me. Is there a way I can download the installer from the web? I have the latest version tiger installed on my computer.

Can I use the X11User.dmg for 10.3 to 10.3.9, which I can download from the web, on my 10.4.5 system?

Suggestions? Thank You.

Put a copy on your .mac public folder before you
leave.

If you have enough free space....

If I'd known that I would need x11 1.1 before I left, I would've installed it. Would be great if it was possible to download it on the web, maybe form someone elses .mac public folder?

And just to get it out of my system: Apple should put x11 1.1 available on apple.com, this solution is just not user friendly enough.

Thanks again Frank.
I now installed MATLAB and tried to open it. MATLAB starts bouncing in my dock and X11 seems to try to open but nothing happens.
So there is a problem. I think I need the whole installation package for X11 to make it work. (Similarly to a zip-file.) Apparently you sent me your application of X11, but then different files from "Libraries" are missing on my machine.

If you have the possibility to find this X11-package (so that I can install the whole thing myself), and would be so kind to put it in my public folder (sigridlj) I would get very happy! 🙂

I'm sorry to say Frank, but it seems to still be missing something. The package you gave me is installed but it is impossible to find the X11 object after installation.
I don't know what the problem is, could be something with the libraries (someone who looked into it told me my libraries were not dynamic).
As a summary, I can't find the X11 icon and make it appear in my applications folder.

Any tips?

Hi Sigrid -

I noticed your thread on the Apple discussion list about needing X11 while traveling.

I happen to be in the exact same situation as you at the moment - I'm on the road and want to run an app that requires x11.

Do you still happen to have the x11 install file for Tiger? Any way I could access it? I tried accessing your public folder but couldn't, nor do I know if you have left it there still.

Thanks,
Jim.
