X11 download

I am on travel and need to install X11. I do not have my Tiger DVD installer disk with me. Is there a way I can download the installer from the web? I have the latest version tiger installed on my computer.

Can I use the X11User.dmg for 10.3 to 10.3.9, which I can download from the web, on my 10.4.5 system?

Suggestions? Thank You.

The file that's in your public folder now is
"X11SDK.pkg" which is different than the X11User.pkg
file that I need. But hey, don't worry. I'll get it
fixed in a week.

Thanks for trying -
jim.

Hi Jim and Frank,

the correct package should now be in my folder "sigridlj" and it is not password protected now.
And by the way, Sigrid is a GIRL:)

Hi,

I'm in the same situation...out of the country and in need of the x11user.pkg for Tiger.
I was able to download the x11user.pkg from Sigrid's idisk, but it appears to be incomplete as it generates an error and does not install.
If someone could be so kind as to either post the correct version on their public iDisk or upload it to mine (idisk.mac.com/dazz3r-Public) that would be great.

Thanks for your help,

Darren

Sigrid,

Thank you for your response. I tried the reamining x11user.pkg that is on your idisk (thanks for cleaning out the old ones). Sadly it still does not work. It goes through the normal install steps (Note @ select destination step it indicates that it requires 90MB of space...from a 2MB .pkg?). I checked and I am not even getting an install receipt.
It appears that I am experiencing what you and Jim were experiencing with the incomplete .pkg. If you are able to upload the .pkj direct form the install CD/DVD that would be great.
After endless searching of the web, it surprises me that this is the only place I have found where it is available to download.

Thanks for your help,
Darren

So then there is nothing I can do to help you Darren, I'm sorry. I don't know what a PPC version means, but maybe it could be worth the effort to try the package called X11user1.pkg in my folder, which is much bigger than X11user.pkg.

Hope it works out, I know how annoying this problem can be.

Good luck
Sigrid

Ahh, the PPC/Intel detail, I didn't think of that. Would have been much simpler to remember to bring my install DVD before I traipsed halfway around the globe 😉
If anyone else is reading, let's get a download point for tiger & intel macbook & x11 set up. Searching the web has proven that there is a need for it. If I was back in the world I would upload it right away.

Thank you, Sigrid for your help. Thank you to all others who can help...

Darren
