Ipod Touch 4th Gen. with white screen?

I have an ipod touch 4th Generation, and one day it froze up and turned to a white screen. I have already tried the home button and power button trick, and that didnt work. It also said that if it didnt work to restore it to factory settings, but it wont show up in itunes so that i can do that. Help?

😕

First, try a system reset. It may be what you've already done but I want to be sure. It cures many ills and it's quick, easy and harmless...

Hold down the on/off switch and the Home button simultaneously until the screen blacks out or you see the Apple logo. Ignore the "Slide to power off" text if it appears. You will not lose any apps, data, music, movies, settings, etc.

Read this before continuing:

There have been some problems accessing pages on the Apple web site. If the hyperlink gives you a "We're sorry" message, try again.

If the Reset doesn't work, try a Restore. Note that it's nowhere near as quick as a Reset. Connect via cable to the computer that you use for sync. From iTunes, select the iPad/iPod and then select the Summary tab. Follow directions for Restore and be sure to say "yes" to the backup. You will be warned that all data (apps, music, movies, etc.) will be erased but, as the Restore finishes, you will be asked if you wish the contents of the backup to be copied to the iPad/iPod. Again, say "yes."

Finally, if the Restore doesn't work, let the battery drain completely. Then recharge for at least an hour and Restore again.

Hi, any suggestions on how to get the battery to drain more quickly....? I know that sounds simplistic but with the white screen, there's no way to select anything to run and the screen blanks after 10 or 15 seconds to conserve the battery. i've been just hitting the power button to keep the screen up and carrying the ipod around with me all day..... There's got to be a faster way to drain the battery!

Thanks!
