iCloud keeps asking for a password

I have been using iCloud for several months. This morning, I logged on to my iMac to find that my me.com e-mail account was down and that iCal was telling me that my password had not been recognised, so I could not synchronise my calendars with the cloud "for security reasons".

Nothing had changed here, but I shrugged and duly followed the on-screen instructions and reset the password successfully. Five minutes later, I got the same message: account disabled for security reasons. Username or password did not match.

I have now been through this endless loop four times. Either something is wrong at Apple or, more likely, I am misunderstanding something basic. Can someone advise?

I agree, it is unexceptable! I'm scared sh@&less to change my password (or other settings) because of all the crap we have to put up with.

Music downloads is another thing, everytime I buy music on iTunes I get several duplicates despite the fact I've followed every advice I've gotten from apple. Verbatim!

When I follow their "duplicate clean up" instructions and click on duplicates and then delete the songs copies I don't want I end up with music on my iPhone but the same songs on my computer won't play because "the original version cannot be found"?! Yet I've followed their own d@&n instructions and the dude at the apple store goes - "hmm, that's weird..." Did I get any reimbursement? Nope! Yet some 40+ songs on my desktop (iTunes account) won't play now; they do play on my iPhone but when I upgrade to a new one they'll be gone as I can't transfer those songs from an iPhone to an iPhone. It has to be via iTunes (even with cloud) and iTunes cannot find the original songs!!!?? Remember, all those songs were purchased on iTunes, I simply didn't want any duplicates anymore.

I've contacted my branch of better business bureau to complain about the poor customer service, they said their list of complaints is very long. Maybe a newspaper should research this subject? I've had every single new iPhone that's come out but I'm losing faith in Apple, they are like the government, so big they simply don't care. Disappointed. :-(

Yea, thanks for sharing your thoughts, I was outraged with this coversation turned into an altercation. He was just giving a sales pitch for Apple Care and the $49 incident fee. The situation is easy and logical that we should never have to pay for damaged goods/services when it is not our fault.

Thanks for letting me know about the BBB, I no longer have an interest on the new iPad thus far, these situations alone and the continuing lack of support just kills it.

Apple behaves today the way Microsoft behaved in the early 90s. They think they're too big to fail, I love my iPhone but I despise the horribly customer care. Going to the Apple store I feel like I'm being surrounded by Walmart zombies - with eyes wide-open and a repetitious tone they all exclaim "Welcome to Apple, isn't Apple great!?!" "Attention Walmart shoppers! Did you know that Apple is great!?" "Today's special - 'Apple is great!' poster for only $499"
