10.7.3 no wifi connection after wakeup

Since 10.7.3 update, I have to manually reconnect to my WiFi network at every Wakeup from sleep.

It WILL try to connect by itself, but it will quit trying after 6-8 seconds.

The WiFi icon in the menu bar will then remain gray until I click on it and manually choose my WiFi network.

It DOES reconnect automatically upon Restart, though.

My WiFi network comes from a third generation Time Capsule, with the most recent updates applied.

Had no such problem yesterday in 10.7.2.

There could be any number of reasons... not sure why you had some trouble. Sometimes it is what it is. Dont be discouraged. Learn all the features of Lion and when new updates come available update the computer. ( I love Lion, but had to uncheck natrual scrolling.. it made me nuts.) Don't be afraid of the computer. Use it, take free lessons from the local library or cultural center, and perform updates when they become availabe. Play with all the programs. Many times a person will suggest to do this or do that... use discretion when peopl talk or come to the house. But the most important thing... and this is the most important thing... Play with the computer, have fun with it, enjoy it, and most important don't be afraid. Remember everything could be fixed (...as long as it is not a hard ware issue, and even that could be fixed- sometimes it cant be.) I would suggest if you do not have a timemachine backup and the router from Apple that is called a Time Capsule or Airport Extreme, then get your self an external hard drive (1 terabyte or greater - the prices of these external harddrives are crazy cheap. And the new ones are super thin. I have both the old bulky usb hard drives, and the new super thin ones but the ultra slim external hard drives is the way to go, and trust me, once you use those ultra thin external hard drives, I dont want to go back to the bulky ones; you could also get an airport extreme or a time capsule ( i have both and love it) - I back up right to my router. And utilize the program called TimeMachine... it is awesome.) I would suggest anytime you update the operating system or install a program, run disk utility once in a while. It makes things smoother sometimes. Oh and don't be afraid to ask questions, from the community or your local apple store.

Yes, that must be comforting. It isn't an issue that effects every single OS X lion user who updates to 10.7.3. But for those of us whose computer was working fine until we updated to 10.7.3, it is a little frustrating (and ironic, given one of the main fixes 10.7.3 was supposed to do).

Several of us have all gone through similar steps with Apple Care Support, only to find that they don't have a solution because it is a problem with the update that needs to be fixed by the engineers (Apple Care got back to me a couple days later to let me know the engineers are aware of the problem). Since it was caused by the update, essentially anything else is a workaround and may not work for everyone experiencing the problem. Waking up with the power button has worked so far for me too (27" iMac i5). New to mac, hope an update isn't too far away!

Just an observation. Since I tried the on eof the suggestions of unchecking "Ask to join new networks". I tried this and it didn't work, so I wnet back in and checked it again, which as my default setting. Not sure if this fixed anything, but I haven't noticed the issue for about a day or so. Kind of forgot about it really.

Can anyone else test this?

Again, I unchecked it... Let is sit for a few hours, wake.. Noted it didn't fix it.. Turned it back on and since then I fell it's been fine.

No automatic WiFi after wakeup on my mid 2010 iMac 21,5"

REPAIRING HD PERMISSIONS did it for me!!!

what I did:

update from 10.7.2 to 10.7.3 via software-update: no WiFi at wakeup

override delta-update by combo-update: no WiFi

restore 10.7.2 viaTime Machine: WiFi okay

combo-update 10.7.3 again: no WiFi

different WLAN and bluetooth settings as suggested in this forum: no WiFi

fix HD permissions: here we are again, that did it for me!!! Now stable for more than 24 hours.

Having the same issues.

Tryed to resolve using greek_mac72's solution from cnet but getting an error message wich states that the file is dubious and thus not loaded.

I'm using the power button to wake up the mac right now (wich works) but i urge Apple to look for a solution.

You solved this in 10.7.2 please solve it in 10.7.3 also.

Thanks!

Well, let me say it again - I continue to have the connection problem, none of the "fixes" have resolved the issue.

So, to save all of you some time, here is what I have tried:

Tossed some buffalo dung at my base station,

Rubbed some frog sweat near the antenna on my iMac,

Had an Amazonian virgin chant "CONNECT CONNECT CONECT",

Hopped in a circle on my right foot while tossing clovers over my left shoulder

Guess what?

Apple will have to fix this issue.
