10.7.3 no wifi connection after wakeup

Hi,

Not sure if I have had a double whammy here.

Have an iMac 5 running with an Airport Extreme.

Updated both Firmware and 10.7.3 on the same session. Can't get the WiFi to hold true for more than a couple of minutes, it doesnt even go into sleep mode before dropping the connection.

Anyone know if this is just the same issue or a compounding of two??

Rick, I believe the correct procedure would be to hold a seance and beg the ghost of Spencer Tracy to fix it with one of Katherine Hepburn's bobbypins. (Probably only makes sense if you've seen Desk Set, a delightful movie from the 50's with a computer the size of a room.)

Many people seem to be having this problem with 10.7.3

However, it may be specific to a certian processor and 10.7.3 ?????

What processor do you have with this sleep problem?

If people are having this problem with all the above processors, then it would appear that there is a problem with 10.7.3 itself.

If only some processors are having the problem, then obvioulsy it could be a problem with just those processors and 10.7.3

I have no idea why this thread has been marked solved when so many people are having this problem and the fix stated here does not work for them.

RainyWeather - you are welcome - I've just found it easier to laugh this mistake off rather than invest more hours trying to fix it with so little knowledge on the topic.

The power button work around is effective on our i3 - the only issue is that I can't remember to use it as all our other Macs are connecting after sleep in the usual manner.

I posted this last night that I had done that same thing and noticed it appeared to fix my issue. Not sure what it fixes, but it's been my observation that it fixed it for me.

You are lucky...some of us can't stay connected since the update.

There is NO FIX..........

This has not been fixed....

At this point, everyone that is having this problem is going to have to live with it....

People think they have it fixed only to come back a few hours or a few days later saying the fix they tried didn't work....

Again, there is no fix and this question is NOT answered even though the original poster marked it fixed...

So....what do we do? I almost purchased an Apple Care agreement just to talk to someone.....I bought an iMac after hearing raves about it - only to have to return it for a new one because there was a recall on the hard drive - now this? What's next.....

well... you really have not given much on what is wrong on your end... and a few posts back... i believe i gave a solution.

There is no solution at this time. Don't let anyone tell you any different...

Apple needs to create a fix for this...

Is it really that big of a deal to select your network again after sleeping?

Go to the Airport ball diamond in the upper right of your screen and select your network again after sleeping.

This will bring your network live again....

Yes, this isn't a fix, but it allows you to continue...

I have no Internet on my iMac after wake-up just like everyone else. All other devices, i.e., iPads, iPhones, laptops, and desktops do not lose the connection. I never thought I would say this, but I need a fix!

There is no fix....

There are work arounds for now...

Go to your Airport ball diamond in the main menu bar and choose your network again.

It should start working.

You will have to do this everytime after waking from sleep until there is a permanent fix from Apple.

I think you should get an airport extreme... cause the airport expres just extends the routers signal.
