10.7.3 no wifi connection after wakeup

Since 10.7.3 update, I have to manually reconnect to my WiFi network at every Wakeup from sleep.

It WILL try to connect by itself, but it will quit trying after 6-8 seconds.

The WiFi icon in the menu bar will then remain gray until I click on it and manually choose my WiFi network.

It DOES reconnect automatically upon Restart, though.

My WiFi network comes from a third generation Time Capsule, with the most recent updates applied.

Had no such problem yesterday in 10.7.2.

The original poster has a Time Capsule (TC)....

Has nothing to do with an Express or Extreme....

By the way, maybe you should buy an Express and see that it has 3 capabilites.

1. Joining a network

2. Creating a network

3. Extending a network

Plus, Airplay, Disk, Printer, etc......

You apparently do not own an Airport Express..

Do you own any Apple Airport Base Stations?

Well, I've just reset my TC Router to its default settings and, for the moment, my Time Capsule seems dead !

Upon restart, I get the green light for a second or two and then the steady yellow light for about 50 seconds (which I find normal).

But instead of getting the steady green light afterwards (at which point the WiFi connection normally gets alive), I get that yellow flashing light that will keep on flashing forever.

I've then tried hard resetting with a pencil at the tiny recessed knob at the rear of my TC, and the problen remains: the boot process still ends up with the same flashing yellow light.

Disconnecting / Reconnecting the Wan Ethernet cable didn't help neither.

Luckily, I have an old D-Link WiFi Router on hand. That's how I'm now back on the Internet to find a solution.

Any suggestion ?

Here is his fix.....

He used his old D-Link Router...

Do you call that a fix???

That didn't fix his Time Capsule....

This question is not answered and should be unchecked as answered and the reward points removed...

Do you own any Apple wireless routers?

That D-Link router was how the original poster fixed his problem...

It didn't fix his waking from sleep problem with his Apple router.

That is why this question as not been fixed or answered... even though it is marked as fixed.

It is not...

Unfortunately this thread is dead as far as I am concerened.

Any poster inside of this thread should create their own thread so other people here can help you fix your problem.

I have an iMac mid 2011, Intel i5 processor, and after I had updated to Lion 10.7.3 (combo update from software upadate) my Mac wasn't able to connect automatically to wi-fi after it went to sleep mode, I had to select manually the wi-fi connection. Now I have just downloaded and installed Lion 10.7.3 (combo update from Apple web site) and it seems to have fixed the problem even when I recall the Mac from sleep using the keyboard!

Hi Sanal,

There is another discussion that might help you. It's titled "After updating to 10.7.3 I am no longer able to connect to the Internet." I had the same problem you're having (started with not connecting automatically after waking, and then advanced to no internet connection at all). I still have the waking from sleep problem and am using the power-button workabound, but AppleCare was able to get me connected to the Internet again. My problem was specifically tied to the fact that my wifi connection is WEP and my security is WEP password (I didn't know what these things were and had to call AT&T, who provide my intenet connection, to find out). Apparently most people have a WPA connection, but I had WEP. The solution that worked for me is posted there. BE AWARE that my solution might not work for you unless you also have WEP password security, but there are solutions that worked for other people posted there as well. Good luck!

All the same issues here...Since upgrade to 10.7.3 Lion...There is no ability to reconnect to the Wifi signal from any wireless router. You have to wait for it to search available networks, then connect.

You know what, my experience since Lion upgrade generally has been riddled with issues....Back to Snow Leopard until this is fixed.

An insane Lion upgrade from Apple.
