Updated to 10.7.3. Wifi drops constantly.

Updated this morning. Then it would not hold a wifi connection for more than 5 seconds at a time. Had to use Lion Recovery to install a Time Machine backup to 10.7.2. That took over two hours. After that wifi was semi-ok. Lion has always had a problem with wifi. I am very disappointed with how Apple has handled the Lion rollout. So many problems. I would suggest anyone having problems with wifi think twice before installing this update.

One more here who had the SAME problem.. Continuous disconnections..

I did what someone recommended i.e. I deleted ALL my locations, hit apply, then re-created them and since than the Mac has not dropped the wireless once. I don't know if it was the recreation of locations or the treath that I would put him at the junkyard and revert to Windows that did the trick but it worked! Good luck to you all.

I think Steve Jobs would step out of his grave is he knew about all these cluster***** Apple are currently releasing. It is not a race dear Apple! People have been buying your products because they were stable and easy to use! Please do not loose that out of sight! You are already releasing Mountain Lion while Lion is not even stable! You guys are overrunning yourselves I'm afraid! Please don't give us a reason to revert to that ever annoying windows!

Thank you sincerely.

Hi Freediverx01,

Unfortunately I yelled victory too soon. After somwhat more time, it appears the connections are still dropping. I even reverted back to my Apple Time capsule with built in router. Thought Apple likes apple but unfortunately this is not the case. My connections also keep dropping like flies here....

Simply unbelievable how Apple can screw this up soooo badly.

Really hope they get it fixed ASAP. Meanwhile I guess I'll have to rever back to 10.7.2.

Thanks for your efforts anyway.

Kind regards

Lorenzo

After exhausting many/most of the suggestions posted here and elsewhere, I've found something that worked for my particular setup. Posting in case it can help someone else.

My setup:

* Mac Pro - 2.93GHz Quad Core Intel Xeon (10.7.3) w/airport card

* Macbook Pro - 2.4GHz Intel Core 2 Duo (10.7.3)

* iPhone 4S

* iPad 1st Gen

* NetGear WPN824N Wireless Router

So, the problem I had seemed to occur after updating to 10.7.3. I've used the NetGear router for over a year without any issues at all, but I recently moved and both of my macs lost wifi connectivity around that same time so I wasn't exactly sure what was going on. To clarify, when I say "lost" what I actually mean is they could no longer see the SSID being broadcast from my router; however, I could still connect to other wifi networks. Finally, I spent a day troubleshooting it (literally, a day). I narrowed it down to something with the macs b/c my iPad and iPhone would both connect to my wifi router with no problem.

With that, here's what I tried with no results:

* Power cycled the router

* Moved the macs physically closer to the router

* Turned wifi off/on on both macs

* Deleted the airport plist

* Changed broadcast channels on the router

* Performed a factory reset on the router

When I did this, both macs initially found the default "NETGEAR" SSID, but restarting both macs created the same state as before where they were not detecting the router at all. Good times!

* Reinstalled Lion with the Combo Update

* Changed the security settings, SSID names, and other settings on the router multiple times to multiple configurations

* Added my the MAC addresses for both computers to the router's permission list

Finally, though, I seem to have found a fix for my issue (your mileage may vary). I had to dial down the mode from 150Mbps to 54Mbps...so I guess from 802.11N to G. I've tested this by restarting both computers and it seems to be stable, so there you go. If you've tried the following above like I did, then maybe this will help you out.

Glad it works for you ... However, I think Apple owes you a patch or software fix that will enable correct connectivity of your Mac systems as before ... You put a bandaid on a problem that THEY created - they owe you a fix to restore normal operation ... - simple as that ...

I feel the same way about my connectivity problem, which is different than your's, but nonetheless created by Update 10.7.3, which was corrupted software.

Updated to 10.7.3. Wifi drops constantly.
