I would need to know the same information about this other Mac that I requested of you about your current iMac. But the answer will probably be that you will want to run Snow Leopard on your main partition (since it continues to receive security and other updates) and Tiger in an "older software" partition (since Apple no longer updates Tiger).

What i meant was, is it better to partition on a cleaner imac? i am in the process of moving in so my brother and i share a computer (the one i gave you the details on). I won't lose any data on the computer will i? Also, i have the tiger installation disks. So when i open disk utility, can you tell me how to partition so i can try to run IJ on the tiger partition?

I can do it, but I cannot describe the process well enough to be sure I am telling you correctly. You will not lose any data, but again you need to be told how to do it properly. I made a partition of about 15GB large.

So start a new thread asking how to Partition a Snow Leopard Mac into a second partition and then install Tiger into that Partition.

When done, you will use Startup Manager in System Preferences to boot into one or the other.

When In Tiger, download the CNET Tiger Indy Updater and use it to install Indy in Tiger

You will not lose any data:

Boot from the Snow Leopard Install DVD (Command-C) and use Disk Utility from there and follow the instructions here:

After you create the 2nd partition, boot from Tiger Install disc and install into 2nd partition.

Help me out here, who were you referring to if not WZZZ, it's difficullt to tell.

It appears that you can run Disk Utility from your Hard Drive (in Snow Leopard) without having to boot from the Snow Leopard Install DVD and use it to create the 2nd partition there:

Then reboot into the Tiger install disc and install Tiger into the 2nd partition.

But:

1. Instead of resizing the partition, create a 2nd partition with the + symbol; and

2. Install Tiger instead of Mountain Lion.
