I have purchased an IOMEGA media hard drive with cloud facilities.
My tv could see it, now it can't.
I don't seem to be able to see any files on it.
It is supposed to scan your computer for all media but is not.
after a lot of hours of struggling, I managed to do a time machine back up.
I am having real trouble connecting it to the sky DLink Router and creating a static IP address. I think this is what the problem is...
Any help? 😢

You have to create a static IP in the settings of the IOMEGA drive itself.

Yes, the router 'gives' your devices an IP address, but you can override this by setting the device up with a static IP. Look this up a little before doing this though, since this is an advanced feature.

I have looked at this again, and the network router could not be configured to enable or disable remote access.
This can occur when your router does not have UPnP enabled or the required port can not be opened or cloaesed.
It does not explain what to do or how to enter a static ip address?
Any suggestions?..

The static IP address does not have to be set-up on the router, only on the drive itself. You should be able to do this on every device that connects to the internet, but I am not sure how to do that on that drive. You'll have to go in the settings and look around in there a little.
