my Ipod touch will not sync tracks from itunes, nor downloaded CD's...what do i do?

Yes i have synced succesfully to this computer before, it started after I had a CD downloaded from another computer...it will say backing up ipod, then syncing, but it doesnt download the music...yes the songs play in itunes, the only way i can get music on my Ipod now is to purchase directly from ipod...
What was the source of the songs on the CD?
Try resetting the iPod. Nothing will be lost.

I don't know what the source was..I was there but I didn't see it done...i will try to reset it
okay I reset it and it came back on..should I try to sync it again?
Yes try syncing. Next would be to restore from backup.
Okay...still not syncing...will I lose the music thats already on there if i restore it?
