According to this site ( http://www.dshield.org/diary.html?storyid=12532 ) all they did was to remove the security fixes that were implemented with the 1.0 release.
Then the persons running this site aren't very bright if they believe that. The dates on the previous files are Jul, 5 2011 at 4:10 PM. All of the dates for the 1.1 release are Feb 2, 2012 at 8:20 PM. A little investigating goes a long way over making unsubstantiated comments.
They may have concluded that by simply looking at the file sizes, which are identical. But looking through the binary data in TextEdit shows that they are different builds. For libGIF.dylib for instance, the certification data reads:
Apple Inc.1&0$ U Apple Certification Authority1 0 U
Apple Root CA0
060425214036Z
350209214036Z0b1
On the new file, it's:
Apple Inc.1&0$ U Apple Certification Authority1301 U *Apple Code Signing Certification Authority0
070223220256Z
150114220256Z0V1
Different certification text; different checksum (or whatever they represent) numbers. Clearly not just the previous files placed into the new updater.
Yeah, you still can't get the new version on the updates page. You have to grab it during a Software Update download.
How long it was up like that I don't know. But someone at Apple had unmistakably added v1.1 to that, even though the DL # was still 1489. Then sometime in the last hour they either edited out just the version # or actually pulled the real v1.1. When it was up, I didn't bother to compare the original checksum to the "new" one. I'm glad I didn't get it thinking it was the revised one, if it was still the original. That would have been very bad. It boggles the mind that the original is still available for downloading.
Anyway, I can wait.

Thanks Kurt, I was in the forum looking again today, saw your post and another in a thread. I ran V 1.1 on both of our laptops, and our problems are solved!
For the 2, or few having problems, that always happens, but the removal of the certificates seems to have done the job for us right now.
We're good.
