how to merge two apple ID acounts, how to merge two apple ID accounts

I had an apple ID Account that I used to purchase some iPad and iPhone applications and iBooks as well. When I moved to iCloud I created a new Apple ID Account and I purchased new applications on both devices (plus my Mac Book). Now I need to merge all the applications on both accounts; any idea how I can do that. I do not need to have two accounts and keep updating apps with two passwords, etc....

Appreciate your help on that.

I feel your pain! I used just one apple ID for years, on my iMacs and iPhone, until I bought an iPad2 last summer. In order to activate it I had to verify my apple ID, and after a half-dozen failed attempts, I figured out that I couldn't verify my "funaddict" apple ID, but I had to use an apple ID that ended in "@something" so I was forced to create another ID, "funaddict@mac.com" to use with the new ipad2. So now some of the aps on both the iphone and ipad are from each of the different apple IDs. When apple forced me to use a different ID in order to activate my ipad, they should have given me the option of either appending my previous ID, or at least merging the two into one new one. Now I have two IDs and they're both linked to one email address and one credit card for purchases. Hopefully apple will come up with a fix for this. I haven't yet done much with icloud, but I hope it doesn't create a huge mess for me when I do.

Fot thsoe with two IDs, you can log in and out with different IDs and still access your "stuff" that way. Not a very elegant solution, but it does allow tyou to access stuff from one device.

One solution would be for Apple to allow us to log in to multiple accounts at once from any device.

The problem is we can share apps and music w/ multiple devices (within the same household) but we have to also share our ID and password for that to work, so it isn't very secure. eg: I'd like to share stuff with my sons, on their copmputers, but I dodn't think I want to give them access to my password which would allow them to purchase using my account.
