Exchange 2003

I have one problem.

At work we are using exchange 2003 and I'd like to read and asnwer my email at home using mail.app, but I cannot. How I set mail.app? I have to use exchang or exchange IMAP?

I can read my mail wit my Iphone, I use the same username and server but on my mac I can not read and write any mail
