You don't need it so don't install it. These apps will only muck up your Mac.

So would you suggest that I uninstall it??
Yep.
Piece of junk. Doesn't do anything you can't do yourself & "may" offer up files to remove that shouldn't be removed, as well as miss files that can/should be deleted.
i personally used that before and uninstalled it. im now using mackeeper. so far all is well specially when uninstalling apps. thats my opinion my friend.
MACKEEPER WOULD CAUSE FAR MORE PROBLEMS THAN APPCLEANER.
If you haven't had any problems yet, good for you, but uninstall immediately as MacKeeper is a nasty, nasty program.
Anyway, any software promising to "clean" your Mac is either simply unnecessary or potentially harmful (like MacKeeper).

Good luck with that. MacKeeper = Malware.
steve what do you suggest to use??? coz one of my friend said mackeeper is a must have for mac...
You need to get rid of it:

And you don't need anything.
I would, because you absolutely can't trust it even to do a good job of what it claims to do. Here's an example:
I have a graphic hardware benchmarking utility called Cinebench that's outdated and that I might as well get rid of. It was installed into a Cinebench folder that, according to its Get Info window, contains 329.3 MB in 7118 files. When I drag the Cinebench application icon onto AppCleaner, AppCleaner finds the application file that I dragged (65.6MB) and two other tiny files of 4.1KB and 24.6KB, for a total of less than 66MB. After deleting everything that AppCleaner thinks is associated with CineBench, I'll still have 7115 files totalling more than 263MB that were installed with Cinebench remaining on my hard drive. Case closed, as far as I'm concerned!
ok will remove it now... what a waste... im a first time mac user all i wanted is to have my invesment safe... thanks for the help WJOSTEN... thanks again...
what should i do now when uninstalling apps???
Just wondering what's bad about using appcleaner? Even in the website you provided it says that you usually need to delete application preferences and files that are not in the application folder. Appcleaner speeds up that process by looking them up for you automatically.
As long as you preview the files before deleting them to make sure they are actually associated with the application you are trying to uninstall what are the disadvantages of using appcleaner?
thanks for your help... already finished uninstalling it...🙂
To learn why you'd be foolish to rely on AppCleaner for anything more than a good laugh, read my previous post about it in this thread.
