Apple Event: May 7th at 7 am PT
My safari froze and my mac would not allow me to force quit any applications I had opened. I then shut down and rebooted. It beeped once(what does this mean}then came on to log in but would not let me log in. Shut down again unpluged again waited 5 min and now its working. Could anyone tell me what happened and what one beep means when turning it on. Thanks😕 L

It may not be anything to worry about and may never happen again.
To ease your mind, find your original system install DVD and run Apple Hardware Test. A problem like faulty memory could cause what you described. AHT will tell you if that is the cause.

It means the OS can't detect any RAM. Shutting down usually resets this.
Have you had the back off the computer recently or given the Mac a sharp bump?
If it happens again, take the back off and check the RAM is properly seated by taking the chips out and putting them back in again.
