Solid State Drives and Aperture Performance

Anyone have any experience using Aperture with an SSD?

I have a 120 GB SSD, running Lion, with all applications and a 13 GB Library on board. There are 175GB of masters on a conventional 7200 RPM HD. Mac Pro 1,1 with 2x2.66 Dual-Core Xeon and 13 GB of RAM.

My first experiences indicate that the speed improvements are minimal at best.

How are you set up and what have been your results?

OOOPS!

Guess who forgot that he had already kept his documents on the HD inside a user folder? And, of course, moving the Home Folder from the SSD nuked those puppies. 😢

Thank Cupertino for Time Machine! Although it does take a while to restore 300 GB of documents, even over FW800! 😉

A reminder to all to be careful and keep backups! 😊
