try plugging the headphone in and out a couple of times.

Hello! Try Hard Resetting your phone... (Hold the Power Button on top, and the Home Button at the same time until the phone turns off) and then turn your phone back on! That should do it. If that doesn't work let me know.

I tried hard retting my phone a couple times. Any other hints?

Mine did that a few weeks ago. I read to take canned air and blow into the headphone hole, but that didn't work. A hairdryer did it for me. Sounds strange, but it did work.

My iphone4 has been stuck in headphone mode all evening. I thankfully fixed my phone with he help of the forum . Tried everyhing! Blowing in the jack, using a hairdryer , plugging headphones in (20 times) and the never fail turning phoneoff and back on did fail also . Finally decdied to try the sucking !!! IT WORKED!!!! I dont have to spend all day in the apple store !

I used compressed air and blew the bottom out. I used the Bose Sound Dock and there must of been lint or dust as I inserted the IPhone. My option was apple tv or headphones when I tried to play music or use the phone. This worked for me.

OMG, thank you for this idea!! i read your suggestion and questioned it, i was dessperate to try anything, and i did!! GENIOUS!

Jcpatt- tried everything else on here,hair dryer did it... For anyone else, don't use high heat... Also, this has happened to me twice now while working out..not sure if it's debris, sweat, the way I disconnect... But it's a PIA for sure... #Apple.earphone.fail
