Once my book is uploaded, how long before it appears in iTunes?
Uploaded the book several days ago and haven't seen it yet.

Yes. I viewed them as different thing. The books in iBookstore are more in book format. The focus is on the pictures and descriptions.
The app, however, focus more on the video content and it looks more like app rather than book, and I can designed it to work on both iPhone and iPad! This is how the same content looks like in iPhone (iPad version is similar).
I see them as compliment, not replacement of each other. But I don't have to worry too much about iBookstore anymore.
I waited nearly 6 weeks until my book passed quality assurance. Apple didn't let me know when this finally happened, by the way, I had to check daily in my itunes connect account until I got a green dot where I thought it would always be red. The entire Apple ebook experience was extremely un-Apple like.
Well My ticket for "Incorrect cover art" has now disappeared from the ticket list (after nearly 45 days). The original issue wasn't even for the cover art, It was a mistake in the metadata. Now, I have a red light (still) and it still says there's an issue with the cover art...and it's still awaiting quality assurance. VERY FRUSTRATING.
I don't get this. Does it really say "there is an issue with the cover art" without providing additional information?
If so, that's useless. Folr heaven's sake, why not tell you what it is that they found objectionable? Without that information, how can you fix it?
All this ticketing process does is create more work for Apple and slow things down even more because they then have to respond to additional queries from publishers: "can you please tell me what it is that's wrong with the cover?"
Michi.
When my book got flagged I found all the objections listed quite thoroughly (and redundantly) in the itunesconnect/tickets). Click on the number link below " Tickets." the entire review history is there.
Howdy Everyone!
I just wanted to update you on my experience hoping that it will help to shed some light on the approval timelines. About a month ago, I submitted my book. Within a week, a ticket was opened because of a portrait mode issue. I resolved that issue over night (simply restricted viewing in portrait mode) and redilivered the assests.
I sent a few emails and quickly recieved replies confirming that my new assest were redelivered correctly and my book was in the queue. After 27 days, the ticket was closed.
Now, it seems I am back to the original state and the book is waiting 'review for quality assurance'. Hopefully no new tickets get opened against it and it will make it through just fine.
I will keep you posted.
Probably won't be that fast. It is like submitting new.
Please keep us posted on your experience, and best of luck!
My Book is now available!
This is a follow up to my post about 3 hours ago. Once the ticket cleared, it took less than 24 hours for the book to be live in the book store. So all told it was 35 days from upload to publishing. After it was green lighted, it appeared in the store within an hour.
My book contains 5 videos, 4 gallery widgets, and 3 interactive widgets. It is a total of 118 pages in length.
If you have an iPhone and want to get the most out of it, you can learn everything you need to know about iPhone Photography in my new book.
Here the link to 'Big World Little Lens - The Complete Guide to iPhone Photography'
I hope everyone's book will be available soon!

Congratulations, and thanks for letting us know!
Michi.
Congratulation! This is fast for once.
My "Basics of Photography" is available too!
About 30 hours from upload to changed green lamp, but I didn't find it on the itunes.
30 hours from submission to approval? That is super fast!
How long is the book, and what kind?
Cheers,
Michi.
Wow! If this is true, then perhaps the iBooks review team look at the forum one day and decided to do something. 🙂
61pages, multimedia, include interactive and video.

Thanks for letting us know!
It's interesting to see such large discrepancies in delays. Some people here have been waiting for weeks for books of similar size. A discrepancy this large would seem to suggest that books are not necessarily reviewed on a first-come, first-served basis?
Congratulations on getting your book out! 🙂
Michi.
