Once my book is uploaded, how long before it appears in iTunes?

Uploaded the book several days ago and haven't seen it yet.

Sigh 🙂 bearing in mind I've got mentions of all sorts of apps from Brushes to Ideas, Art Rage to Sketchshare, not to mention comments about having used iBooks Author, iMovie and more I think I should give up now! Taking all of those references out of the work will take a very long time and leave almost all of the text with massive gaps 😟 Hey ho.

With every day that passes the iBookstore goes from being a magical thing that opens up publishing to the world to something hugely dispiriting and disheartening to me. Which is ironic because in a couple of weeks I'm going to be doing back to back classes in iPad art and then iBooks Author. Will try and remember to have a smile on my face throughout... Not feeling it though...

Chris@Twistframe,

Sorry, but I'm not following you. You "pulled the 'iWord' instances out." Don't understand what you are referring to.

When I initially got my ticket that there was a problem, I corrected it by completely re-doing the book using a different template. I found no indications what so ever that the original problem existed with the new version. I sent it up to the site and iTunes Producer told me all the assets had been delivered. However, Apple, says the original problem still exists (impossible).

I don't want to waste another attempt sending it up again only to be told a month later that it still isn't right (especially when the bot's that respond to me won't tell me exactly what the problem is they are seeing.)

So are you saying I just re-send the files using itunes producer?

Yes kb: I just resent the SAME package through iTunes Producer with the changes. This reset my submission date for the title, but as stated, it was only a 12 hour wait after the resub. I was afraid it was going to queue up another 4 week + nightmare but it turned out to be quite the opposite.

And Michi is correct, I had "iBooks" in my cover image and the description, those instances and adding a proper iTunes ISBN link to the sample were the only changes I made.

Ah, yes I see. Thanks.

I don't recall having the word iBooks in there anywhere, but I will check. The ticket messages I was given are as follows with teh book being submitted initially on Feb 24th. I made a new version of the ebook and sent it up an March 26, which seems to be acknowledgerd in the ticket. So any idea what the heck they are talking about?

All vital content (images, text, etc) now needs to be available in both landscape and portrait mode. Most content is missing in portrait mode currently.

Sounds like they are saying that there are still problems with your book in portrait mode.

I uploaded my ibook last night everything was successful. However, I'm now just waiting for it to show in stores, I have a red light that says not in 32 stores. Anybody know how long this should typically take, as I have press coming out I would love for it to be available. Thanks!

BTW my book is an advanced guitar instructional with 187 embedded audio files in it check out the trailer here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rq6Gypr8i7U

Some people have had anywhere from a coupel of days, to two weeks fo months. Apple will get to it when it suits them. Just ask them. I peronsally have been waiting for over 45 days. You might want to read some of the last few pages of these post to get an idea that some of us are a bit put out with the long, unjustifiable and unnecessary review times. But you may get lucky.

Ok, I'm totally confused.

I uploaded the files AGAIN with iTunes Producer. Just like the first (and second and third) times, it indicated that the content was delivered successfully. The actions logs indicated the entire package was successfully sent. I used a new book and it has NOTHING to do with the first book I sent which Apple claimed had a problem. This one does not, 100% sure. When I sent it up this time with iTunes Producer, I clicked the "Save and Deliver All" option.

iTunes connect is now showing on my ticket that:

May 1, 2012. From Apple.
The following ticket task(s) have been updated by the feed: Full epub

May 1, 2012. From Apple.
Epub internals validation passed

So it seems to indicate that it got there from iTunes connect as well.

HOWEVER,

on the book itself, it still shows.

Apple ID : ....................
ISBN : ....................
Last Imported : Feb 24, 2012
Status :
User uploaded file
Not On 2 Stores

...

That "Last Imported" is what scares me. That's what it has always said regardless of the new versions I sent, and Apple still tells me in each ticker the "original probelm is still there, nothing has changed, sorry 'bout yer luck, see you in another 40 days for the same message."

Is my new file there or not? How do I know? I e-mailed the iBook store "support" people last time I uploaded an update to ask them about this very issue and they told me my book was in the review queue. Never said (not WILL they) if my new version is there.

What's going on?
