Once my book is uploaded, how long before it appears in iTunes?
Uploaded the book several days ago and haven't seen it yet.

Great. However, next to the ISBN on Bowker's website, there is an "x"–so I don't need to upload anything? I have my ISBN number, so in iTunes Producer, can I just type the ISBN in, without doing anything else with Bowker? Thanks!
One more thing, the URL is myidentifiers.com/Manage ISBNs Or something similar. That is not the exact link.
Registration in the Bowkerlink database is optional. They strongly recommend you do, and there really is no harm in doing so. Eventually, it causes the ISBN to make its way into various catalogs (the Bowker books in print catalogs). But you can use your ISBN even if it isn't in the database. Just make sure that you don't use the same ISBN for two different books.
You can just type the ISBN into iTunes Producer. It doesn't care what the ISBN is (as long as its checksum is correct). iTunes Producer doesn't check the ISBN against any databases, as far as I know. (The time lag would be too long, for one. It can take months for Bowker to make newly registered ISBNs available. I think they publish them quarterly.)

Wow! Fast response! Thanks! I have a textbook on Roman history which I wish to publish to the iBookstore soon. I just hope the review time is short!

By recent accounts here, it could be as little as a week, and as much as two months or more.
Michi.
Thanks.
Got my next book approved in 10 days. It's free. Childrens book
download it here:

Well after 60 days I finally got approved. I think it was because of the racey cover and adult content. However, to be fair, after 30 days I was informed of a formatting error, which I repaired the same day.
Anyway, here it is. Of course you should all read it.

Good luck everyone.

Ok everyone,
I just submitted my textbook, Rome, to the iBookstore team for review! Hope this is quick! Anyways, I have a Kindle book that is currently for sale. I have made a nice cover for the book using iBooks Author—can I submit the cover to Amazon? I am aware of the rules that Apple put in effect pertaining to the distribution of textbooks, however, I just want to submit the cover art to Kindle (the story was written in Pages). Is this allowed?
Regards,
Gregg M.
Yes, it is. You own the copyright to that cover, after all. (At least, I would hope so 😉 )
Michi.
Great! I was just hesitant because I was aware of the EULA in Books Author.
The IBA EULA says that content in iBooks format, if paid for, must be sold through Apple. Free content in iBooks format can be distributed by any means you see fit.
Apple do not claim any ownership or copyright on the content of your book, so anything in the book you want to republish elsewhere is yours to publish.
Cheers,
Michi.
I ticket was recently issued against my book.
The ticket issued asks me to fix the formatting because the title "overlaps the center line." Does anyone know how I can decrease the size of the center line? Thanks!

Select the line. Choose to "Arrange -> Unlock". Resize the line. Lock it again. Then re-upload the fixed book.
Michi.
Thanks! That is quite helpful! I appreciate it.
