Once my book is uploaded, how long before it appears in iTunes?
Uploaded the book several days ago and haven't seen it yet.

My own expectation based on my own experience is paid book is single digit per day, and free book is double digits per day.
I would like to see anybody doing way better than these, like selling hundreds of paid books per day, or giving away thousand of free books per day. So far I have not seen any success story - there is no Angry Bird here.
It seems like a long time ago, but actually it was only maybe 6 weeks ago, when I asked on the forum, "how is anyone going to find our books"? In this thread, one can see that even we iBA authors have trouble finding our own books without searching by title or author name.
I do find that when I Google for "Zebra ibook apple"
Sorry, hit wrong button. As I was saying, that search gives me
iTunes - Books -Zebra by WINKtoLEARN & Virtual GS - Apple
So I could find limtc's book that way. But then I already have to know it is an iBA book.
It seems to me that Apple needs to "take a page" from Amazon and their Kindle Singles, where Amazon has a special webpage and prominently features new books, best sellers, etc. I had a Single that the editor featured prominently and I sold a lot of copies. To make the new iBA books the needle in the iTunes haystack is not working and is not going to work.
(I speak as if I were an iBA author but actually am still waiting.)
You can give them the link of individual book or all books.
For example, to find all our books:
http://itunes.apple.com/artist/winktolearn/id504132655
To find Zebra iBook:
http://itunes.apple.com/book/zebra/id509882050
These links can be be in your Facebook, web pages, emails, etc - it is how you promote those links.
but apple should provide a better solution for organic searches, where someone doesn't yet know your book exists.
For example, a user who wants an interactive book on a topic should not have to look through all books of that topic until they find one with screencaps.
the fact that books don't search the description or keywords is ludicrous. Only a title, subtitle and author search is used when typing something into the search box
I submitted a ePub book to Amazon's Kindle Store last night, and within an hour, the review process was complete. It is currently on the store! :). Apple sells great products and I generally think they are an amazing company; however, I would really appreciate it if they hired more people- my two books have been waiting for already a week, and I am worried that they may be sitting for much longer.
Does Amazon support multi-media books (video, interactive, etc...)? I am interested in publishing our books there.
I thought Kindle Store does not use ePub.
Besides, if we use multimedia in our books (especially video), I am wondering how good/bad the Kindle experience is and how to verify the books work.
Our book "Lion" now reached #1 in Education chart! And #4 in the top level Professional & Technical chart.
Hopefully this can improve the visibility of our books a little...
Sadly, I don't believe so. Sorry, but you can submit pictures and text.
After 2 months I am still waiting (and it's just a free book!). The process of review is incredibly long. By the time it's reviewed it's time to update it!
It seems kindle is a better solution as they put the book up the next day. After 2 months I'm still waiting for Apple to approve my book.
After one month of wait - I just don't care anymore. I update my books if needed since I don't want the published book to be outdated. Right now I am updating my non-yet-approved books to support Retina graphics.
Awe man! I haven't even thought about that. Maybe it's a "good" thing my book has been sitting there for over 30 days. I know what I'll be doing this weekend....updating graphics to support the Retina display.
TC: When you update a book that is already in the bookstore, does the original version remain "live" until it is replaced by the revised version? And when you say you are updating books that are yet-to-be-approved, do you mean you are going to wait until approval and then submit the revised version? Also, does the acceptance of a revised version take as long as it took to get the original accepted?
Thanks. Jim.
I have 2 different experiences: my free book did not get pulled when updated, but one of my paid book got pulled for review again after being updated (not immediately). It is still under review after close to a month.
