Razer Orochi driver

Does Apple make it easy for third parties to develop drivers for products like this? I was given the impression that all would be working but come to find that they are working on drivers for the latest OS which explain why my Orochi wireless mouse has lag but wired seems ok. Now I have to either return product or wait to see if Razer solves the driver issue.

Copy of tech support from Razer:

"The issue your encountering is due primarily to the fact that the Orochi does not currently have drivers that are certified to be 100% compatible with the Lion OS.

As of October 2011 Razer is developing updated drivers for all current Razer products presently supported for Mac 10.6. I am sorry we do not have an ETA at this time as to when each of the individual drivers will be available. But stay tuned to www.razerzone.com and www.razersupport.com for all the latest drivers."

Running out of time on return policy, pretty nice mouse but should I wait for drivers or am I fooling myself to think this issue will be solved in the near future? How I hate to return hardware.

Still trying to get my Orochi working with El Capitain/Sierra and now High Sierra. The Bluetooth always worked but the USB did sometimes, but mostly not. The Razer drivers for MacOS are useless - I never had Synapse work on my MBA.

Mostly I had to reboot for the mouse to be recognised. Never did it work after returning from Sleep.

Is your Orochi working when connected with USB and how did you do this?

You really need to discuss this with Razer. It's up to them to develop drivers. Apple provides the development kit and seed software, which for Mac OS X 10.7 was available almost a year ago, and from there it's the developer's responsibility. You'll need to make your own guess as to whether Razer will have drivers out any time in the near future. Since they say "as of October 2011" and it's now February 2012, it doesn't seem like they're making quick progress, and the fact that many of their "Macintosh" support answers pertain only to PCs is not lending to a feeling of confidence, but there's no way to know unless they provide information.

If you're running out of time for a return and the mouse doesn't work correctly now, I'd sugggest you return it and buy some other mouse, at least for now, and wait until Razer comes out with drivers and then repurchase.

Regards.
