How to uninstall "Command Line Tools" in Xcode 4.3?

Just installed Command Line Tools using the perference in Xcode 4.3. After removing Xcode 4.3, I found the Command Line Tools are not removed.

Is there any way to uninstall?

Thanks!

Thanks for the comment, but as I said in my original post, there is no

"unistall-devtools"

anywhere on the system.

I perhaps should have said in the begining that I installed "Command Line Tools for XCode" only (~100MB) rather than entire XCode suit (1.8GB).

I went back and checked

"lsbom /var/db/receipts/com.apple.pkg.DeveloperToolsCLI.bom"

which presumably lists all files installed during installation. I checked for "uninstall-devtools" there and nothing. So unless the unistall-devtools command is part of OSX the installation did not finish properly although the installer did not complian.

So going back to the beginning: how do I even check if commanline tools are installed.

I just wanted to install CLT to use macports and add fortran compiler for my science projects ... which did not work anyways. This is very disapointing.

I hope there is a solution somewhere.

Cheers,

Radek

It's strange indeed.

I suspect that simply removing all files from bom list would do the trick, but I'd like to have someone to verify that. It would be also handy if there is a simple script to parse .bom file and removed files automatically.

If I had to guess I'd say that current command-line tool (released June 11) misses couple things like "uninstall-devtools". It's possible that patch will be released that fizes this.

I'll keep it on my system for now.

If you follow Patrick Mau's suggestion about lsbom, be VERY aware that it outputs all sorts of wonderful things like /usr/share/man. If you were at / and piped lsbom's output in xargs to delete you're OS will probably be trashed. Manually? hahahah. That command outputs 2474 lines.

Really, this is dumb installer design. I've got to have Xcode to uninstall. Wait... I don't use XCode. Oh... huntdown the XCode installer, start download, go to lunch. DUMB.

Hi Simon,

In case you never found an answer, when it asks for your password it is accepting your typing even though the cursor never moves nor any asterixes appear. It's done so that no one can see what you're typing but your comment shows just how stupid it is.

Anyway, just type in your password when it asks for it and hit enter and it will accept it.

As for the rest of this comment list, when will we learn to use wiki's? I still can't tell if there is a reasonable answer here amongst this hotch potch of (all well-meaning) comments.
