Only thing I can belatedly add to this thread is that, although your Mac does indeed fill the bill in terms of requirements, upgrading as much as you can the RAM beyond your current 4GB will significantly enhance the usability you will get from the new OS. As with Lion, it is a full 64-bit system and, thus, is happiest with as much real RAM it can get. (in comparison to the make-believe that the virtual memory swapping area constitutes)

Your in the same boat as a lot of people. It only works on the following models listed below. You can use AirParrot ($10) to achieve the same thing.


AirPlay Mirroring

Requires a second-generation Apple TV or later. Supports the following Mac models:

  • iMac (Mid 2011 or newer)
  • Mac mini (Mid 2011 or newer)
  • MacBook Air (Mid 2011 or newer)
  • MacBook Pro (Early 2011 or newer)
