Should work but ML is a bit slow then. I had 4 GB RAM but upgraded to 8 GB and it's working fine.

These is my MacBook:

Modell-Identifizierung:MacBookPro5,3
Prozessortyp:Intel Core 2 Duo
Prozessorgeschwindigkeit:2.66 GHz
Anzahl der Prozessoren:1
Gesamtanzahl der Kerne:2
L2-Cache:3 MB
Speicher:8 GB
Busgeschwindigkeit:1.07 GHz
Boot-ROM-Version:MBP53.00AC.B03
SMC-Version (System):1.48f2

Indeed. CPU-wise, the Core 2 Duo will suffice, but ML is a full 64-bit OS and 4GB will lead to more paging into virtual memory, thus a performance hit.

Another thing to consider when making the big jump is that ML (as well as L) does not support PPC code anymore. The Rosetta emulator is gone. If you have older programs you need to run, you'd better stay on SL. Or at least do a Get Info on each and make sure they are either "Application (Universal)" or "Application (Intel)".
