I bought an iPhone in Germany and brought it back to the United States but didn't get it unlocked using iTunes in Germany. Is there a way to get it unlocked here in the States? I am going to Hong Kong in a few days and want to use it with a prepaid SIM card there.

You will need to contact the German carrier, only the carrier can unlock your iPhone. Not all carriers offer authorised unlocking so it will depend on who your German carrier is.
It was through T-Mobile Germany and am pretty sure that it is supposed to be unlockable.
Then contact T-Mobile. Only they can unlock it.
Everything I have read says that when buying a German iPhone and plugging it into iTunes that it would automaticly unlock. I created a German Apple ID with a German credit card and everything and registered the phone but it didnt unlock or anything. I was going to try restoring it next.
T-Mobile do support authorised unlocking so you will need to contact them to request unlocking.
It will not automatically unlock, you need to make a request to T-Mobile first.
Of the three approved Apple Carriers
Only O2 sell unlocked iPhones in Germany on contract ( other than Apple Germany )
T-Mobile and Vodafone only sell locked but will unlock for their individual terms
Did you get it on contract? If so your stuck for 2 years. If not, and you paid full price (629/739/849 Euros) then it should be carrier unlocked. If that is the case then you need to send a copy of the receiot to t-mobile and ask them to unlock it, or return it as defective.
