Auto Importing in Aperture

I would love to shoot tethered with my Nikon D3 and have images go directly into Aperture. I realize Aperture has a tethering feature, but my clients have become spoiled by Live View and being able to see small changes on the screen before pressing the button. So is there any way to shoot with Nikon Camera Control Pro and direct files to a folder where Aperture would automatically import them? I just read instructions on setting it up for LightRoom w/ auto import, but I don't use Light Room ;-)

Aperture 3, Mac OS X (10.7.2)

I'm sorry to exhume this discussion from Aug,. but because I am still having problems with the Auto Import function, I'm back here again.

Often I try to use it and it will not work and I'm back to setting up all over again. I've got two quesions now:

Do I have to open Automator and reload the action after I shut the computer down or is a always active?

Does Automator have to be running?

Every time I go to use it I seem to have to Automator and start again from the beginning and still I have problems.

Help!!

This is what I need, but my Automator seems to be broken. In Automator on my laptop the "library" includes a long list of functions/actions. However, on my desktop there is just a single item, "mail". My library seems to be missing. How can I restore it?

The actions are in /System/Library/Automator look in there and see what you have.

BTW it would be best if you posted in your thread. This one is old and not likely to get much attention.

There are 289 items in that folder. And now I see all the actions in Automator if I choose the menu "arrange by application." If I choose "arrange by category", I see only one action. Is that normal? Apparently the default selection was "arrange by category".

No not normal. You should see all the actions either way, just arranged differently.

Do you have anything in the search box at the top of the actions list?
