Is there a work around how can preview save a locked JPG file? PNG's can do a save as in preview even if is locked.
here is the error below.
the reason why i want to find out is because outlook saves their attachment files locked and if i open them in preview, i cannot do a save as on JPGs.
i have not tried any other image viewer to automatically open the attachments and save them. PNG attachements behave alright so why can't JPGs?
this is a feature that works on 10.5 and 10.4 (tested by kurt188).
if the user is me, it wont actually be a big one, since i'm open to work arounds. but for 100+ users changing their workflow just because of this bug, i hope you can imagine what i'm experiencing.

Of course. Huge PITA. And, whatever workaround you choose, out of 100, there's sure to be at least 10 who'll manage to get it wrong, and thus require even more troubleshooting.

this is so true! but can't blame them, wont be here if not for those stuff.
I'll just update this thread once Apple addresses the issue.
