set purchased music as default ringtone

My 13 year old son purchased a ring tone, which is now shown as a song on his song list. He wants to set this song as his default ring tone. We kow how to change ringtones, but the song does not appear in the ringtone list. How can we either get this song into the list of ring tones or set the song as the default ringtone?

You choose the default ringtone on the iPhone in Settings>Ringtone. If you don't see the ringtone he purchased there it may be a song rather than a ringtone (especially if it appears on the songs list in the Music app). He can still create a ringtone from this song using iTunes, then sync it to his phone and set it as his default ringtone.
