Why won't my iPad let me watch channel4od via 3G?

When I try to watch any of the tv channels like 4OD or bbciplayer away from my home wifi network, it won't let me? I can connect to Facebook etc, but not the tv channels? Is that not what 3G is all about? Please help me sort this out? Thank you x

Ignore the marketing hype here in the UK .

You will often get as little as 384mb download over 3G (not much faster than edge) and rarely much more the 1.5GB, compounded by terrable lattancy in the region of 220ms.

Any video with such lattancy alone is virtually un-watchable.

Sorry this is a Telecomms problem not that of Apple

Only LTE (4G) will really have the neessary capasity and in the UK we are still several years - That right years away from mass roll out of 4G !
