ATI Radeon HD 5770 with three monitors?
Could I connect three monitors to an ATI Radeon HD 5770: 1 DVI via DVI port, 1 DVI via mDP-DVI adapter, and 1 VGA via mPD-VGA Adapter?

I got it to work! I have 3 Monitors 24" 1920*1200 connected to a ATI 5770 with two mini DP and one DVI output (MAC PRO 3.1 early 2008).
One monitor is connted to the DVI and I used two adapters - mini DP to DVI.
YOU HAVE TO USE ACTIVE MINI DISPLAY DORT TO DVI ADAPTERS - BOTH HAVE TO BE ACTIVE - otherwise this wont work! They dont have to be dual link adapters. I used both of the following.
