The Lifeproof case is 100% waterproof. You cannot press the shutter button on screen underwater, however you can use the Volume up button on the side of the phone, to take a picture.

No case will let you press the photo button on the screen underwater. The iPhone screen works on conductivity so the water acts like one giant finger. I have a LifeProof case and you just use the + button for taking photos underwater.
