Trouble printing with HP DeskJet 5850

I am having a strange printing problem on my HP DeskJet 5850. When we print something, the last page comes out and then maybe the top 1/4 of the next page and then stops. The print monitor then shows an exclamation mark icon and the says that "Jobs Stopped". I can click to "Start Jobs" button and then the entire print job comes out normally.

I have removed the printer and re-added it and it is still doing the same thing. I'm assuming it's a printer driver problem.

When I got the computer, I downloaded the driver from HP. It's version 2.7.1 (I think). It wasn't until later that I noticed that updated drivers came with 10.4.4 ( http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=303057). It says that there is version 3.3 for my printer. However, I don't know how to update the driver to this new version. Plus, if I use the drop down menu to tell it which driver to use, I don't actually see HP DeskJet 5850 listed.

How do I update the driver to this new 3.3 version? And why is it listed in the Apple document but I don't see it listed in the drop down list?

It's not a network printer. It is connected directly to my Mac via USB.

The funny thing is that if I print from Windows XP -> Mac -> printer, then no problem on same document where the problem occurs on my Mac. Therefore, must be a driver problem, or at least something on the Mac.

So, my printer doesn't have an IP address. Any other suggestions that I should try out?
