hp photosmart d110 installer not supported
Hey All,
I'm trying to reinstall my HP Photosmart D110 printer for like the 11th time this week. I bought the printer about 1.5 years ago, with my Macbook Pro. Everything worked fine at first -- through my last year of college, several moves, etc. Now, when I try to use my printer (wirelessly or hard-wired) it simply won't work. I've gone through uninstalling and reinstalling the HP software, with the installation CD and the downloaded installation software from hp.com/support --they're one in the same.
My Mac won't recognize the printer and at the end of the installation wizard, I get a message saying "If your device is not listed, it is not supported by this installer."
I've called Applecare. The rep was very helpful, but unable to resolve my issue. I've called HP Tech Support, which was a less than pleasing customer service experience. They're not open 24-7 as they advertise and when I finally did get a rep, he was troubleshooting for a PC when I specifically noted that I have a Mac. Naturally, I was told I needed to be transferred to a different department, where no one answered the phone (even during "normal business hours.")
Needless to say the whole experience has been very frustrating, especially since the printer was working fine as recently as 2 months ago, and because I've gone through the typical reinstall procedures.
