How do I open .docx file on my iPad

Don't think it's an iOS issue. I'm using iOS 9.2.1 on my iPad Air 2 and Pro and have no problem opening *.docx, *.xlsx and *.pptx files using Microsoft's latest Office apps.

From an email, tap the attachment once to download and again to open it. From the preview, tap the box with an upwards arrow in the upper right of the screen and select MS Word to open the attached document file in Word (or Pages). . What you see within mail is merely a preview version of the attachment.

There are multiple MS Office compatible apps, but there is only one Microsoft Word (and only one MS Excel, PowerPoint, Onenote and Onedrive app).

Go to the app store and get any of the apps that read that file type. Pages, docs to go, quick office, there's a bunch.

You can also open with Quickoffice Pro. This is a Document 2007 Format.

the best app for $9.99 is definately Pages. Get that one. 🙂 😀

If it were me, I would stick with Pages. It just looks as if the ratings overall are better that's all. Did this help?

Pages scramble my docx files . Can't use it so far.
