Problem Sending mail from multiple accounts

I have a PowerBook pro and I set up 2 gmail email accounts. When I prepare a new message there is a pull down list for the "from" column where I can select one or the other address to be the "from" address. However when I send the messages they both always are sent from the same address. I am using gmail imapi and I believe I've got all the settings correct. Does anyone know how to solve this?

Are both accounts Gmail?

If so check the outgoing server for each, which should be the same, and that for each address it contains the Correct Return address.

I suspect the Return Address for both accounts is set to the same Gmail address.

Yes both are gmail. I have made sure both accounts have their own email addresses. It doesn't matter which address I "pull down" in the sent column it always sends from the second one.

I'm thinking I'm missing a setting somewhere.
