I am making an epub book and would like the image on my cover page to fill the whol page without the large white borders around it. How can I do that in pages. I know you can't export a document as an epub if it has floating objects in it but i don;t know if thats a problem for this application or not. Thanks
MacBook Air, Mac OS X (10.7)
Menu > File > Page Setup > create a custom paper size of 9" x 13.5" > set all margins to 0 > Format > Any Printer > OK
Create your custom cover as a jpeg and crop to 9" x 13.5" or proportional pixel equivalent.
Import your cover onto the first page of your ebook.
Inspector > Wrap > Object Placement > Inline...
Stretch cover image to fill the page.
Menu > File > Export > ePub > Use first page as book cover image
Haven't tried this myself, but this is what is recommended.

Thanks but when it tired that it doesnt seem to work. The drag bars on the image won't let me drag it past a white border that extends about an inch around the page. Any idea what i might be doing wrong?
As you can see in the pciture below the borders are large and I can't drag the image over them

Not at first but then i changed the margins to zero to see if that would fix the problem but it didn't change anything
What do you mean it doesn't change a thing? Couldn't you enlarge the image?
In the picture you appear to be using a header and footer which will limit image size to some extent.
Yes. I didnt add that it sems to be there by default. How do I get rid of those?
No. I decreased all the borders to zero but still got the same results. Shouldn't that have changed it?
You have to decrease the margins in .pages Document Inspector to 0, then the inline graphic can fit edge to edge.

This is what Peter is trying to say. Header and footer doesn't have to be zerod.
This will apply on all pages. Used Layout margins for the other pages If you want some margin for the text.
Thanks. That did the trick. I have used microsoft word fordecades and only recently became a mac convert so I;m trying to get used to a very different menu system and couldnt figure out where the heck the margin settings were. That was a big help
