HOW TO SELECT MULTIPLE FILE /FOLDER IN A SINGLE CLICK IN MAC OS X

Hi. I have the same problem I've tried highlighting first file, then holding down shift key as I highlight last file. All that happens is it highlights the last file, leaving all the ones in the middle no selected. I am using US keyboard on very new MacBook Pro, with OS X 10.9.2

CAN U JOIN ON FACE TIME?

If you are trying to select files in icon view, the Shift-key method doesn't work. In the Finder's View menu, change the view from "As icons" to "As list," and then you'll be able to use the Shift-key selection method.

eww, thanks for your posting. It helped a lot. I had the same problem, but not any more.

You are right, I changed the view from icon to any of the other alternatives and it worked. It should work also with icon view... that's the best way to see the files. Thanks again

click on the first file/folder, hold the shift key, click the last file folder you want to select. It will highlight and select them all.

As S2W posted and the same as in Windows. Shift key.

To select multiples folder and or files that are not consecutive you need to hold down Option+Command then click on the folders/files.

You selected one file or folder in a list, then held down the Shift key and selected another file or folder farther down the list and all the ones inbetween where not selected?

What type of keyboard are you using? Is it an US type keyboard? If not it may work differently then what I am using.
