A2DP Headset in Windows 7 Bootcamp

Hi,

Either Windows 7 nor Apple bootcamp drivers support A2DP. You will need to install a 3d party software to make it work. You have at least 3 options, you can find a full description in my post here:

First download the drivers and unzip the folder:

http://www.pcdrivershop.com/aspire_4830TG_Bluetooth_Atheros_7.4.0.96_W7x64_A.zip

The unzipped folder contains 2 sufolders: \Bluetooth_Suite_win7 and \win7_driver_only. You should install the Bluetooth Suite only, this is enough to add the missing profiles.

Don't even think about going to the win7_driver folder 🙂 and you should NOT run the driver installer inside thie win7_driver folder (this can cause conflicts with windows and will prevent windows start)

I couldn't find the Atheros drivers, but I have a pc with a new Asus MB with built in bluetooth and the Atheros driver. P9X79 Deluxe MB.

Available from Asus support site. Works great on MBP17 2011, Not quite so smooth on the new Macbook Air2012. I might try reinstalling the drivers, but at least I have sound.

been trying to figure out how to get it to work for months now lol.

Currently running Macbook Pro late 2009 with BOOTCAMP Windows 7. Now it works flawlessly with my Beats Wireless.

it has also added the microphone and remote control features which i was not expecting but works!.

I actually Have not had any problems with mine personally. I had a magic mouse and it worked fine with my windows 7, except I game... So the multitouch didn't help me out at all. So I switched my mouse to a Bluetooth razr. I have not had any problems before doing this 3rd party except where the Bluetooth headsets would not connect due to windows 7. After applying this 3rd party everything has worked normally + more than I expected it to run.

This method worked for me. I have a Mid 2011 MBA with Windows 7 Professional. This worked well with my Motorola S305 headset.

Well, thanks a bunch for this! I have struggled for 2 days to get the bluetooth to work.

Details: Mac Book Pro 15 with retina display. Bought December 2012

WIndows 7 with bootcamp.

I used the defaul install and then downloaded the Bluetooth 4.0 drivers for the 4830TG from the Acer website. I then unzipped it and ran Bluetooth_Suite_Win7.exe.

This installed all new drivers and the utilities. I can now connect my iPhone to my PC!!

This solution with the Asus Atheros driver worked like a charm for me !

Using a MacBook Pro Retina of 2012 with BootCamp and Windows 7 Integral Edition, I could not use a bluetooth speaker. The A2DP was not supported and Windows kept on trying to use Windows update to install the driver (it was useless)...

The Bluetooth peripheral was displayed in the list of devices, but it was not to be seen on the sound outputs.

Installing the driver from http://support.asus.com/download.aspx?SLanguage=en&m=P9X79%20PRO&p=1&s=42&os=30& hashedid=ITjeO1wq0nRUPfej worked like a charm.

yes. Same problem here. The Asus Atheros bluetooth suite was the ticket. Works fine now. Thank you all who contributed to this thread. Youve been a big help. btw, anybody who needs to reference, Mine is a late model 2011 macbook pro 13 inch, no retina with Win. 7 ultimate 64 bit

Just wanted to report same problem here. Trying Bigjambox with MBP Retina using Bootcamp. Upgraded to Bootcamp 5 (hassle to uninstall 4 first) but didn't fix. Looking forward to this suggested fix - downloading it now. Thanks community!
