how do I get rid of text enhance spyware

It should be sufficient to just disable it.

In Firefox it was impossible to remove from within Firefox.

It seems to reinstall itself directly after relaunch of Firefox.

I had to go to

~/Library/Application Support/Mozilla/Extensions/.....

and erase the folder "EEF73632-A085-4fd3-A778-ECD82C8CB297"

That took care of the codec-M malware.

I am still having this issue, I went in to clear any extensions that may have been installed and I don't have any (never have) and this Text-Enhance is still popping up. Even when I clear cookies, it shows back up! Can anyone help me?

None of these suggestions solve the issue with the latest version of text-enchance... at least not for me. Its not coming in through any of the add-ins, extensions, etc. listed. Its coming in through Flash. I have not found a way to remove it, but you can disable it by disallowing thrid-party Flash content storage (see http://www.macromedia.com/support/documentation/en/flashplayer/help/settings_man ager03.html). If any knows how to remove this garbage permanently, please reply.

Yes I am seeing teh same thing. It is Flash based.

Some success. I re-installed Flash. And it seems to have kill text enhance in FireFox.

But I am still seeing it in Safari.??

Tried deleting Safari and re-installing no luck.

I could not figure out how to remove it for Safari. Best I could do was cripple it, but at the same time it cripples Flash for most everything else. It would be nice if someone knows of way to remove it.

It is not a problem with Apple, Safari, or even Flash. It is an extension you installed, apparently unaware that you were doing so.

I have read the this thread from top to bottom multiple times and there are NO extensions installed for Safari on my system.

What website is causing this behaviour for you? Post its URL and I will attempt to determine what it is doing.

Also, post your version of Safari and OS X.

Click on the "Disable" tab and then simply click the link. That will disable those annoying in text advertisements. Hope that helps you out.
