This is just a polite and friendly reminder to give props to those who deserve it from putting in their time and effort and offering free knowledge to those in need. I don't know why there are so many unanswered questions in the forums that are clearly answered. Just putting that out there! =) Cheers.

Between Xmas & April 15th, only about 10% get a reward in past years for me anyway. 🙂

I've never paid attention to points, but I just found out that I need 500 points to upload a custom avatar of my dog. Is that right? 500 points? That crazy! That means I'm going to have to be helpful. I hate being helpful.

Oh well, points or not, I'm sure it's nice for future readers to have a clear indication of the correct solution for the problem being discussed. Prolly not a bad idea to nudge people to use that feature.

Adding...

You'd laugh at how long it took me to figure out that I couldn't use a custom avatar. That's what landed me in the "Using Apple Support Communities" forum.

It's weird that I've never played with forum preferences before today. I didn't even know that threading discussions was an option. That's nice. It makes things easier to follow.

So, 9 times as much as Level 1 sounds pretty nice. Hey, wait a minute...

Hello guys,

Sorry for the delay, Im getting ready to deploy to Tokyo, Japan. I've been packing for a while and been somewhat busy lately. Anyways, I didnt think this topic of discussion would attract so much attention. But after reading all the (what I think) frustration driven comments, this problem "almost" 😉 makes me want to get my well deserved points myself by cheating the system. Ask dumb@$$ questions in random forums and then use a discretely newly created accouunt to *answer* all the questions asked with this accouunt. But I wont do that because that is probably illegal and can get me banned from these forums and that just ruins all the fun in it now doesnt it? Always looking forward to finding a solution here...but I dont see it coming anytime soon... -_-

It's been tried, and you're right, it gets you banned. I'm sure you would never consider it.

Hi

I started another post on which you replied too. Thank you very much for that. I have a question though. I wanted to award someone on my post the "this solved my problem" points but mistakenly ended up pressing the button for another idiot on the post who was not even the LAST person to deserve that.

Is there any way I can take this back? Anyway I can award someone else the "This solved my question" points?

Thank you

Don't take to "points" to seriously - the amount of points I got awarded never really corresponds to the time spend on writing the post - recently I received 10 points for simply writing "canceled", after I noticed that the answer went to the wrong thread ( This solved my questionRe: Library, Faces, Unnamed Faces Buffer), but no points at all in other threads for working out a tricky debugging problem.

Sometimes it seems like the ops are just throwing a dice to figure out how many points to award.
