Presumably something down somewhere. Nobody knows anything and presumably won't until it is fixed. See the 50+ other posts on the forum today. The only thing I can add is I don'tsee this problem with iTunes 7.5 so perhaps it is regional or specific to a particular iTunes version.
Just read about this problem. Reset itunes store cache and after that restart Itunes . Worked for 2 of my computers.
Thanks to the person on one of these discussion groups to have suggested this fix. It worked fine.🙂
Thank you for posting this. I am having the same problem. Could you tell me how to reset the itunes store cache?
Open Itunes. Go to Edit and scroll down to the bottom click on Preferences. It will open a menue box called General Preferences. go to the right icon named Advance and open it . Look half way down and you will see Reset iTunes Store cache: and in a box beside it Reset cache. Press the box, then restart iTunes and that should fix this problem. It did for all my computers running XP 32 bit, Win7 64 bit.

Thank you. I did that. I have some music categories that are working now, but not all of them. Some of them bring up the same error message (about 2/3 still not working).
I have the same problem I am trying to listen to a2zen.fm its a talk news station under Talk News?? "An error occurred while contacting the radio tuning service. Check your Internet connection, or try again later."
I encountered the same problem yesterday after my wife had downloaded an .mp3 file. Resetting the Itunes store cache did not work for me, but clearing the Temporary Internet Files in Internet Explorer DID work! Just go to Internet Explorer, click on "Tools," then "Internet Options," then "Delete" under Browsing History." Check only the "Preserve Favorites website data" and "Temporary Internet files" boxes, then click "Delete." Say a short prayer, and you should be up and running again . . .
I tried both solutions.. but none of them work.. any other solution?
For a few days now "An error occurred while contacting the radio tuning service. Check your Internet connection, or try again later." Is a constant problem.
I listen to iTunes radio all the time so I'm absolutely sure there's been a change, must be in the last update. Anything to do with the new radio restrictions coming into force in the USA?
C'mon Apple, don't let us down.
Thank you so much for posting this fix... worked like a charm 🙂
OS = *Both* Windows 7 32-bit (standalone PC) and MacOS 10.7.3
Tried all fixes (resetting cache, restoring HOSTS file, changing DNS server, etc.).
Have problem on all genres.
Worked perfectly up until recently.
I'm experiencing the same problem; tried the fixes above (OS 10.7.3) and they don't work. This is an Apple problem but they seem very reticent to address it. It's now 05Mar12... Probably a good time to call Apple directly and ask "What is going on?"
WOW - Apple has some amazing Big Brother censorship tools...
Running OS 10.7.3 and iTunes 10.5.3. This issue developed for me last Thursday, and resetting the iTunes cache does not work.
...ditto .... to everryone's comments... including, but not limited to, the original problem,my failure at fixing it with all of the "fixes" recommended, my suspicion that the problem is in the last update, and finally my disdain for Apple not addressing this....surely they must have heard about this???
