My iPad 1 streams ABC player app to Apple TV but not consistently, need help troubleshooting.

I discovered a couple of weeks ago that the ABC Player app could be streamed from my iPad 1 to Apple TV, a pleasant surprise, but inconsistent. Last night when I tried it, no joy, just got the error message, no audio or video. However, then I tried the TNT app, and it worked perfectly (first time, another surprise), streaming both audio and video perfectly. I'm trying to figure out what I might be able to do to get the ABC app back on track. Anyone else had any success with this? I know this is not mirroring, the iPad 1 can't do that. Any help appreciated. My settings: Apple TV turned on and connected via HDMI cable, and the iPad set to Apple TV via the task bar. Home sharing turned off. Apple TV working fine for Netflix and for mirroring from iPhone 4s.

MacBookPro, Mac OS X (10.6.7), iPod Touch 64 3g, iPhone 32 3gs, iPad 64g Wi-Fi+3g

The error message is "An error occurred loading this content", which is the standard message for blocked content over AirPlay and/or mirroring. As I stated in my first post, I didn't expect the ABC app to work over AirPlay, so it was a pleasant surprise. And now TNT is working over Airplay as well, though it is not advertised as such. I looked at the link you referred to, but as its nearly 2 years old I don't think it is valid now. Thanks for the suggestion, though. Do you own an iPad 1? As far as I can tell I haven't heard from any other iPad 1 owners.

I just checked and ABC does not work over airplay. I do have an iPad 2 but I turned off mirroring in order to use it the same way an iPad 1 user would. You are right about the link so I have provided one that is up to date.

The error message is suspect though, as audio should still come through. I assume you've tried the basics (reboot, reset) for both devices. In regards to the video and why it worked that time, whatever the reason is due to something the developer has done.

Vazandrew, your persistence in trying to be of assistance is, well, persistent. Unfortunately the updated link is still not up to date, and since it is not an Apple-owned site I don't see why you would expect it to be. The TNT app, which is working perfectly over AirPlay, for instance, is not listed. I have contacted the ABC app developer and got a generic "thanks for your comments" reply from ABC. I still would like to hear from other iPad 1 users. Otherwise I will let this thread die.

Nothing will be absolutely perfect but yes that is the best list you can get. iTunes has it's own list, managed in the store as well but it is not up to date http://9to5mac.com/2011/03/14/apple-lists-airplay-enabled-apps-in-a-new-app-stor e-section/

I don't know what you expect to hear from an iPad 1 user that's any different. The only thing that differentiates the models is the mirror feature, in relation to airplay. Airplay is dependent on the developer.
