I just experimented by pushing the switch back when I was a child, before webcams.
I put my son in the refrigerator to prove it to him!

Seriously, he's now 41 and he has provided us with a beautiful grand-daughter, now nine years old. I recently told him that, in ten years, she's going to be absolutely stunning. He told me that he doesn't want to hear it!

No doubt about that. His brother also has a daughter aged six months and she already has him wrapped around her little finger!
I never had that pleasure. I had sons. Having said that, I wouldn't trade them for anything.
If it is electrically powered (hint: bluetooth is) it has an effect on the battery, but in the case of Bluetooth it is slight.
