Pioneer DVD-RW DVR-111D drive/Mac Pro question

I am currently using OS10.5.8 on my Mac Pro 2.66GHz Dual Core Intel computer. It came with a PIONEER DVD-RW DVR-111D drive in it.

When using Toast Titanium 10, it won't burn DVD R DL made by RiDATA. I can burn any other kind of DL DVD disc as well as single layer DVD or CD.

I was thinking it might be a Firmware issue. How can I find an update or even know if I need an update? My current Firmware is: AB09.

Thank you for your help!

Not sure if this issue has been solved, but I've been burning various dual layer discs for years now, and the cheaper companies' discs are usually the problem. I've made quite a few RIDATA coasters in the past - sometimes it doesn't matter if you walk away from your computer with no applications running except for the burn - they still fail. BUT, I've had good success with:

Verbatim 96862 8.5GB 8X DataLifePlus White Inkjet Printable DVD+R DL, 50 Disc Spindle

I've bought these from Amazon for $53 for the 50-pack (about the cheapest deal for worthwhile discs that I've found anywhere)
