Facebook push notifications not working on my iPhone 4S iOS 5.0.1

facebook push notifications are not working on my iPhone 4S all of a sudden.

I have been through the facebook settings menu, every single notification is on. I have been under Mail, Contacts and Calendar settings and made sure that 'fetch new data' > 'push' is enabled. I have deleted and reinstalled the app several times, I have tried quitting both facebook and facebook messenger switching my iPhone off and back on again numerous times. I have even tried rebooting the iPhone using both buttons but all to no avail. It happened a couple of days ago although over the last few weeks I have noticed that facebook notifications were coming through a lot slower than my iPad where as at one time they both came through together. My iPad 2 still gets the facebook notifications only my iPhone has stopped which is even more puzzling. 😕

If anyone can shed any light on this I'd be very grateful as it's really starting to annoy me not having notifications. I'm having to manually check for them all the time when I'm out and waiting on a message from a friend or family. 😠

I've tried everything- I even called Facebook tech support! Nothing has helped.

I decided just to try loggin in and out first on APP on my iphone. open facebook on my phone, slided left ot show the screen where it says your name, news feed, etc. and at the bottom i clicked logged out. CLosed the app and when i opened it back up i DIDNT hit continue, as this just would sign back in with out a password prompt. Wherever it says not you i clicked that, which then asked me to put my password in to continue, Once i logged back in after putting in my pasword, All my notifications started working again. i dont know why they stopped in the first place but this worked for me

I have tried the logging out suggestion from Thomas 2009 and theis allowed the push notifications from IM or messanger but still not from the status or updates from friends

I had a same issue with iPhone5 with iOS 6.0.1.

In my case, after turning off Email Notification on Facebook site, push notification started working.

My guess is Email notification is preventing push notification somehow in my case.

Nope tried it- it says I'm getting SUMMARY notifications. Don't see an option to uncheck everything for email notifications. Appears. My only options are ALL EMAIL or SUMMARY. Thanks- still frustrated!

Guys, i had the same problem with my facebook messenger app and its REALLY easy to fix this problem, just remove the "windows live MESSENGER" app, it may not look like it, but on the IOS notification configuration it has the exact same name "messenger".

Unbelievably this worked for me! I had trouble with my pages manager app and wasn't getting any notifications - by which i mean sound alerts. I was left refreshing the page every two minutes to see if there were any notifications. But once i deleted a recently downloaded app, the sound alerts started working again! It's so weird but happy it worked. thanks for recommending this!
